Storm Fionn fells poplar

High winds have felled an 80 year old balsam poplar tree in our orchard this morning, as Storm Fionn blasted through Cambridge.

The 50-60 foot high tree came down at around 5.30am this morning, thankfully missing the Geoffrey Clarke sculpture, Call it Hadrian's Wall.

Our gardeners estimate that clearance will take around a week, with help from tree surgeons. The wood will all be recycled for use around College, from wood chippings for paths, to firewood.
