Postgraduate accommodation

We aim to offer all postgraduates up to three years of College accommodation located in central Cambridge.

You'll find us right in the centre of Cambridge, on a side street away from busy tourist routes. Our postgraduate accommodation is located around the boundaries of the College, which helps to keep the community feeling for which we're known.

Most places in Cambridge are within easy walking distance, although many of our students choose to use bikes. Nearly all our facilities are on this large, central site.

Rents and room details

All postgraduate accommodation has cooking and laundry facilities, plus fast internet access via ethernet cable, and the housekeeping department regularly cleans the communal spaces in each house.

Tenancies are from 15 September to 31 August each year. For those students remaining in College accommodation the following year, we are able to provide accommodation for the period between tenancies.  Rents are based on each room's size and facilities, you can see what's included.

Types of accommodation

Most postgraduates live in furnished houses which are owned by the College, shared by three to sixteen students, with single study bedrooms and shared facilities. There are a few sets of two rooms, and rooms with ensuite facilities available.

We have an extremely limited number of partner units which are offered to new students, subject to availability.  Our partner units are either one- or two-bedroom flats or small houses; they are not generally suitable for families with children.  We would advise anyone thinking of coming to Cambridge with children to contact the College well in advance to discuss accommodation options.

Please contact us with any questions by emailing student-rooms@jesus.cam.ac.uk.

ÌÀÍ·ÌõÔ´´ has been a great home for me during my PhD. I chose ÌÀÍ·ÌõÔ´´ for a number of reasons – first, the location. We are central enough to be within easy walking distance of most things, but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle (and tourists in summer!). The College also has extensive grounds, with amenities like the hockey pitch, football pitch and tennis courts all on site. Secondly, the accommodation is some of the best I’ve seen in Cambridge. My house was newly renovated when...

When applying to Cambridge colleges it can feel a bit overwhelming as there are so many to choose from. I applied to ÌÀÍ·ÌõÔ´´ because it has a large MCR which was important for me because I wanted to feel part of a community. Now that I’m doing my PhD here, I’m very glad I did choose a college with a large postgraduate community. Throughout the year there are lots of postgraduate events, including formal dinners, special formals at Christmas and Easter, bops in the bar and film nights in...

I chose ÌÀÍ·ÌõÔ´´ because of the great mixture of undergraduates and postgraduates, and when I first visited I thought it was the most beautiful place I had ever seen! The sense of community in Jesus has had an enormous impact on my experience here. Whether you need help, advice, cheering up or even just a chat there is always someone there to put a smile on your face. From the MCR committee to the Porters, the canteen staff to the gardeners, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Jesus also...

ÌÀÍ·ÌõÔ´´, my home. I am truly grateful to be able to call ÌÀÍ·ÌõÔ´´ my second home. It was my preferred option when I first applied for my MPhil and I could not be happier to still be here during my PhD! There are many reasons why Jesus stands out from the other colleges: from its fantastic facilities to its glorious formal dinners and to its wonderful café and brewery room. The Quincentenary Library is a lovely place to study. It has many spaces to choose from and everything...

ÌÀÍ·ÌõÔ´´ has all the benefits of being large, historical and prestigious college, whilst also retaining fantastic welfare: the staff and other students all care about each other, and will be there to cheer you on when you are thriving, but also there to support you if you need any help. I chose Jesus due to several reasons, including its prime location, where it is very central, and easy to access everywhere, even if you work in one of the institutes further out. I also selected Jesus for its MCR...
