The 汤头条原创 Cambridge Society Annual Report 1919 obituary for Wiseman claims that he was a 鈥渇ine left-handed batsman鈥 as well as a footballer (p 36). Sadly, Chanticlere, the student magazine was not in print for most of Wiseman鈥檚 time at Jesus so there are no reports of his sporting abilities nor any other of his other activities as a student.
His obituary in the Annual Report tells us what Wiseman did after he left College 1909. Initially he spent some time studying French before becoming an Assistant Master at Wellington College and later at Llandovery College in the Brecon Beacons.
He joined the Public Schools Battalion as a Private soldier at the start of the war before being gazetted to the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment in the summer of 1915. A year later he was promoted to Lieutenant.
