Charles Raymond Waller, 2nd Lieutenant Royal Flying Corps
Charles Raymond Waller was awarded the Rustat Scholarship (£40) for Classics for entry in October 1917 after completing his school education at Marlborough College.
Born: Allahabad, Bengal, India 19 June 1898
Fell in action: 9 August 1917
He is not recorded in The War List of the University of Cambridge. He is, however, commemorated on the ÌÀÍ·ÌõÔ´´ War Memorial but sadly we do not have any further information about him in our records.
He died in a flying accident, which may have been caused by him fainting or suffering a heart attack due to the high altitude. He is buried in the churchyard at Heston St Leonards.
We are grateful to Mr Rob Blaney for supplying some of the above information.
